As we come to the close of another year, I extend warm wishes to our partners, supporters, and friends in Saint Lucia and beyond. On behalf of the Board and staff of the Saint Lucia National Conservation Fund (SLUNCF), I reflect with deep gratitude on a year marked by growth, collaboration, and a renewed commitment to safeguarding our island’s natural heritage.
Over the past year, SLUNCF has continued to strengthen its role as a trusted national institution supporting conservation and sustainable development in Saint Lucia. Our governance framework and investment capacity have expanded, enabling us to deliver impactful programs that are well aligned with national priorities. The results of this work are tangible. We have deepened our focus on climate resilience, supported sustainable agriculture, strengthened food security, and advanced community-led development initiatives. These pillars remain central to our mission, and we are proud to contribute to a more resilient and vibrant Saint Lucia for generations to come.
"Our progress this year demonstrates what is possible when sound stewardship, strong partnerships, and shared purpose guide our actions." We have increased investments in climate resilience projects that help communities and ecosystems adapt to a changing climate. We have supported sustainable agriculture initiatives that promote environmentally responsible farming, protect biodiversity, and reinforce local food systems. We have financed programs that improve food security and expand access to nutritious, locally produced food. And we have championed sustainable community development by empowering communities to plan, implement, and manage projects that support long-term environmental and social well-being.
None of this work would be possible without the confidence and collaboration of our partners. We are deeply appreciative of the continued support of the Tourism Enhancement Fund, whose commitment underscores the importance of conservation to Saint Lucia’s tourism and economic future. We also gratefully acknowledge the trust placed in us by valued private-sector partners such as Massy Stores and Republic Bank, whose leadership and engagement reflect a shared belief in responsible investment for national benefit.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Caribbean Biodiversity Fund, whose steadfast partnership continues to amplify our ability to support high-impact conservation and resilience initiatives. We are equally grateful to our international partner organizations and agencies, whose technical expertise, financial support, and long-term confidence in SLUNCF strengthen our capacity to deliver results with integrity, transparency, and accountability. Together, these partnerships form a strong and credible platform for conservation that benefits both people and nature.
Looking ahead to 2026, we anticipate an exciting phase of expansion and innovation. New and strengthened partnerships will allow us to scale successful programs, deepen our impact, and explore new frontiers in conservation finance, climate resilience, and community empowerment. As always, we remain firmly committed to transparency, accountability, and meaningful community engagement, ensuring that the benefits of our work are felt across Saint Lucia.
During this festive season, I invite all our stakeholders—communities, civil society, private-sector partners, and our regional and international friends—to celebrate what we have achieved together and to recommit to the important work ahead. May the holidays bring peace, renewal, and time for reflection with loved ones. And may the New Year bring continued progress, deeper collaboration, and a healthier, more resilient Saint Lucia.
From my heart, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous and impactful New Year.
With warm regards and gratitude,
Karolin Troubetzkoy
Chairperson
