Call for Concept Notes to Fuel Food Security, Innovation, and Nature-Based Activities in Saint Lucia

In a bid to empower positive change and spearhead sustainable transformations, a dynamic opportunity has emerged for visionaries and change-makers in Saint Lucia. The Saint Lucia National Conservation Fund (SLUNCF) and its esteemed partner, Republic Bank (EC) Limited, are excited to announce the Republic Bank Sustainability Fund-Saint Lucia, that supports a range of activities focused on bolstering food security, fostering innovation, and advancing nature-based initiatives within the country.

Paving the Way for Environmental Sustainability The Republic Bank Sustainability Fund-Saint Lucia seeks to create a ripple effect of environmental sustainability that touches on crucial aspects of Saint Lucia's well-being. The vision encompasses three fundamental pillars:

  1. Biodiversity Management and Innovation: Projects that champion improved biodiversity management are at the forefront of this initiative. Innovative practices in climate-smart agriculture, organic farming, and sustainable food processing form the bedrock of this endeavor, all of which align harmoniously with the principles of the Circular Economy.

  2. Empowerment and Inclusivity: This call recognizes the significance of creating pathways for at-risk youth, young individuals, and women in both rural and urban agricultural settings. Projects that offer opportunities for empowerment and skill development will be given precedence, underscoring the commitment to inclusivity and community growth.

  3. Strategic Scalability: Whether they are entirely new ventures, enhancements to existing activities, or the upscaling of ongoing endeavors, all project types are welcome. Preference will be given to projects with the potential for knowledge dissemination, livelihood generation, and the demonstration of best practices, making them prime candidates for replication or expansion.

Unlocking Opportunities: How to Participate If you're enthusiastic about driving tangible change in Saint Lucia, here's how you can be part of this transformation:

  1. Eligibility: The invitation extends to a diverse range of applicants, including government agencies, registered local non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), private enterprises, community associations, local universities, colleges, and other relevant local entities within Saint Lucia.

  2. Concept Note Submission: The first step in this exciting journey involves submitting a well-crafted Concept Note. These templates, thoughtfully designed by the fund, should be meticulously completed. Submissions should be directed to po@sluncf.org, with a copy sent to admin@sluncf.org. Make sure to mark your calendars; the submission deadline for Concept Notes is August 31st, 2023.

  3. Completeness is Key: To ensure your Concept Note is given due consideration, it must be comprehensive and complete. Regrettably, incomplete or tardy submissions cannot be entertained.

A Beacon for Change: The Potential Impact With grant sizes ranging from XCD15,000 to XCD45,000, the Republic Bank Sustainability Fund-Saint Lucia presents an opportunity to propel projects forward. What's more, funded projects must be executed within a concise 15-month window, ensuring swift and impactful implementation.

As Saint Lucia charts its course toward a sustainable future, the Republic Bank Sustainability Fund-Saint Lucia stands as an embodiment of collective aspirations. It's a testament to the force that collaboration between community-centric organizations and the private sector can yield. The time to create lasting change is now, and the Republic Bank Sustainability Fund-Saint Lucia beckons trailblazers to step up and be the architects of a greener, more resilient nation. So, let your ideas flourish, your passion ignite, and let's pave the way for a brighter Saint Lucia.
